Your Life,
Your Way

Supported independent living (SIL) and Individualised Living Options (ILO) that put you first. We help you find a home that you can call your own and build a life you love with the right support team.

Choose How You Live

We believe that living independently in your own home with support workers who are carefully matched to you creates ideal environments for NDIS participants to thrive.

We know there’s no place like home

NDC recognise that every situation is different, that’s why our focus is on delivering optimised supported living care in modern homes where you’re the priority.

What is supported independent living?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a type of paid personal support. It can include:
  • Personal care
  • Cooking meals
  • Supervision of daily tasks so you can live as independently as possible
SIL is best suited to people with a disability that have higher needs including:
  • 7-day a week care
  • Overnight support

SIL can be access in a home with other NDIS participants or if preferred you can live on your own.

SIL is only one of many support options and there might be other options that suit your needs more.

What is Individualised Living Options (ILO)?

ILO helps you live in your chosen home in a way that suits you best. It’s not the physical house, but the home that you want to create. There are many flexible ways to access ILO and how the support is structured is up to you to decide.

What support could your individualised living option include?
  • Support to make decisions like where you want to live and supports you need to make that happen
  • Personal care
  • Support to set up and manage your own home
  • Support to build your independence
  • Support to build and maintain connection with others
  • Support with making day to day decisions
  • Support to manage your emotions or behaviour
  • Unpaid informal supports like neighbours or carers who help you on a regular basis
  • People who you call to help you when you need it (on-call)
  • Training for the people who support you
What’s not covered by individualised living option supports?
  • Your rent or mortgage repayments
  • Your everyday costs like food, electricity, and internet bills
  • Payments for informal supports. This is because they don’t meet the NDIS funding criteria. Payments for informal supports won’t meet the NDIS funding criteria in any situation.
  • Supported independent living
  • Specialist disability accommodation
  • Home modifications
  • Support not in your home, for example, community activities or appointments. We can provide this support separately. Click here to see our other services
